Background
The National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) was awarded to systematically identify, catalog, disseminate, and support the replication of evidence-informed approaches and interventions to engage people with HIV who are out of care or at risk of not continuing care into HIV medical care. This initiative identified acuity scales tools that will determine the likelihood of people with HIV engaging or re-engaging in health care; identified data utilization interventions to actively identify and intervene with people with HIV who are out of care; identified innovative service delivery models; evaluated the costs associated with each approaches/interventions; cataloged the approaches and develop an implementation manual; disseminated the approaches and interventions; and supported replication through technical assistance to Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) and HIV health care service providers. NASTAD evaluated and promoted the effectiveness of these approaches and intervention design, implementation, utilization, cost, and health outcomes.
